”Slipping Into The Unknown” shows a spectrum from the beginnings of art rock to modern sounds. Keyboard sounds ranging from Mellotron to Hammond organ, which one usually associates with the early Seventies, stand side by side with contemporary drum loops and orchestral arrangements. In a folky style flute and hurdy-gurdy are introduced on the CD, to be immediately pulled into the first song ”Making Movies in Hollywood” by Boris Huzak's deep voice. Legendary Italian progressive rock singer Chicco Grosso takes over the main vocal part then, while inbetween Christoph Pelgen (ADARO) comes in to sing on the track ”The Spark”.

Yet, the emphasis is still on well arranged song structures without conforming to mainstream cliches. So it can be the case, as in ”In My Street”, that a single song contains three different keyboards soli. But why not – Ines Fuchs is under no pressure whatsoever to conform to existing structures. ”When I compose, I follow images which I try to realize in a musical way. And that’s the way the kind of musical spectrum, which is typical for me, comes into being. I like to explore and broaden the frontiers of my music over and over again. And the progressive music of the seventies is the perfect basis for my work.” (Ines Fuchs, 2002) Husband Hans-Jürgen Fuchs writes quite some song lyrics. The main theme of the album is ”creativity”. The lyrics pick out as a central theme the emergence of creativity as well as its realizing in the public world. Another thematic aspect is the relationship between creativity and existing success, the pressure of expectations, and the fear of failure resulting from it.

Slipping Into The Unknown spannt den Bogen von den Anfängen des Art-Rock zu modernen Sounds. Keyboardklänge wie Mellotron und Hammondorgel, die man gemeinhin mit den frühen 70er Jahren verbindet, gesellen sich zu zeitgenössischen  Drumloops und Orchesterarrangements. Folkloristisch stimmen Flöte und Drehleier in die CD ein, um dann gleich von der tiefen Stimme Boris Huzaks mitten in den ersten Song “Making Movies In Hollywood” gezogen zu werden. Der legendäre italienische Prog-Vocalist Chicco Grosso übernimmt daraufhin den Großteil der Gesangsarbeit und wird zwischendrin bei “The Spark” durch Christoph Pelgen (Adaro) am Mikrophon abgelöst.Das INES Project legt auf durchdachte Songstrukturen Wert, ohne dass diese gängigen Schemen entsprechen müssen. Es kann schon mal sein, wie beispielsweise in “In My Street”, dass ein einzelner Song gleich drei verschiedene Keybordsoli beinhaltet. Aber warum auch nicht, Ines Fuchs steht beim Komponieren keineswegs unter dem Druck sich bestehenden Formen anpassen zu müssen. “Beim Komponieren folge ich Bildern, die ich versuche musikalisch umzusetzen. Und so entsteht die für mich typische musikalische Bandbreite. Ich habe Lust, die Grenzen meiner Musik ständig neu zu erforschen und zu erweitern. Die progressive Musik der 70er Jahre bietet mir dazu die perfekte Grundlage." (Ines Fuchs 2002)  Auch die Texte von Ehemann Hans-Jürgen Fuchs haben es in sich. So geht es auf dem Album um den Themenkomplex “Kreativität”. Die Texte thematisieren sowohl das Entstehen von Kreativität, als auch ihr Ausleben in der Öffentlichkeit. Sie setzen sich ebenso mit vorhandenem Erfolg, wie auch mit Erwartungsdruck und daraus resultierenden Versagensängsten auseinander.
